Sunday afternoon I made a recipe that I had been dying to make for a long time: Spicy Curry Noodle Soup with Chicken and Sweet Potato, from BonAppetit's 'best of the year' issue. I had had it dog-earred for months and finally decided to make it. Lots of chopping and prep involved, but it was AWESOME! Coconut, curry, cilantro, ginger.....all of my favorite flavors.
I didn't have time to shoot it on Sunday evening, so I saved leftovers and re-created a bowl on Monday afternoon. Set the whole thing up, got out the camera, and then discovered the battery was dead. No auto focus, no nothin'. I really wanted to share it with you guys because it looked EXACTLY like the shot in the magazine! But, the camera didn't cooperate, and I was hungry......so I ate the soup for lunch.
Anyway, here is the link to the recipe on epicurious. If you're a fan of Thai flavors, you will adore this soup! Check out the picture and pretend you saw it here first. ;-)

Sounds good, I get this mag also. Some of my pictures are better left off. I just don't have the time to do really good pictures. I am lucky I get a chance to cook w/2 small monsters in the house. Good pictures will come later on in life when kids are in school and I get back from my morning yoga class and the house is quiet because kids are at SCHOOL heheheh. I can't even hear myself think from the time I get up and go to bed.
Sounds like a great soup! Those flavors appeal to me too.
You should check out the rechargeable batteries from Costco. I've had that dead camera thing happen to me, and fortunately I have those rechargeables and they just pop into their charger for a few minutes and they're back on!
The soup sounds fantastic, shame you couldn't get pics though.
